Meet Our Acupuncturist

Dr. Daniel Fitzsimmons

Licensed Acupuncturist

I was introduced to acupuncture in the mid-nineties when an acupuncturist in Texas treated me for a breathing problem that my other doctors struggled to understand. The acupuncturist’s treatment was very successful, and this led to my fascination with

Chinese Medicine. I began studying, first at Florida Institute for Traditional Chinese Medicine and then at East West College. I have been practicing and learning the acupuncture and herbal medicine for 20 years.

Improve Your Well-Being

Acupuncture is possibly one of the world’s oldest forms of medicine with textbooks dating as far back as 2,500 B.C. Based on the foundations of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). Acupuncture is based on “meridian theory”: that there are lines of energy in the body much like a road system that provides energy and nourishment to each cell of the body. When this flow becomes disrupted for whatever reason then discomfort(pain) and/ or disease occurs.

Acupuncture is not a “one size fits all” medicine like the way many pharmaceuticals are designed to be. It is a system of medicine that takes care of each patient as an individual so each patient’s treatment is carefully designed to fit their individual needs. It is natural, effective, does not use drugs, and in many cases can reduce dependence on drugs for pain management.

Our acupuncture providers are skilled and guarantee you will have a safe and relaxing time.

  • How does an adjustment feel and how long will it take?

Patients reported the feeling of greater mobility and pain reduction after being adjusted. However, in some cases, some patients may feel sore the first couple of times. An adjustment takes only a few minutes, but the vital nerve energy it releases can last for hours, days or even weeks, depending on the stage of your care.

  • What research has been done on Chiropractic?

Literally thousands of health studies including research by the U.S. government have shown that Chiropractic is beneficial in maximizing health, boosting immunity, relieving the symptoms of sickness and disease, and restoring normal function back to the body.

  • What is a chiropractic adjustment? Is it safe?

YES! An adjustment will help your body regain control and balance to better fight off your condition.

  • Can I be adjusted if I have had an operation on my spine; have old, weak, brittle, or broken bones?

There are many very gentle techniques that can be employed to assure proper safety for every patient —from newborns to the elderly.

  • Can I be adjusted if I am pregnant?

For normal development of the baby, ease and safety of childbirth, being adjusted during pregnancy is essential.

  • What is holistic healthcare?

Holistic healthcare is science-based and embraces the philosophy that optimal health results in proper balance in life.  Since the whole person is made up of interdependent parts, if one part is not working properly, all the other parts will be negatively affected.

Holistic medicine is also based on the belief that a person is ultimately responsible for their own health and well-being.  Our bodies are designed with innate powers to heal, adapt, and compensate.
